Being a Captain without the team, cannot work. Ahmed Musa

 

Ahmed Musa says, Captaining the Nigeria National Soccer Team without the support of the entire bunch cannot work.

According to him, you must need the support of your teammates to function.

"You need the support of your teammates, the encouraging words from them, the leadership qualities will reflect on your actions on the pitch, I must thank all of them, I also remember senior colleague Obafemi Martins saying to me then, Musa you can do it, I also remember my roommate then Joseph Yobo always encouraging me to lead the team well. I enjoyed a lot of support and that keeps me going" 

Ahmed Musa told Journalists in a news conference. 

Musa has been the Captain of the Super Eagles of Nigeria without playing actively for the team, even at the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast in January,  Ahmed Musa sat through out the duration of the championship on the bench.

Speculations are ongoing for him to retire from the Super Eagles squad.
