Former Youth International Soccer Player Salisu Nakande M.O.N says, before the U16 National Team won the FIFA Kodak World Cup in Beijing China in 1985, no one believed that the team would win the first FIFA U16 Tournament for Africa.
Salisu who has served as match Commissioner in the Nigeria Professional Football League for 18yrs told totorinews.com in an exclusive interview via phone.
"Even when we were traveling through France to Beijing the Coaches were afraid because of our size but Coach Christian Chukwu and Sebastian Brodericks Imaseun
of blessed memory insisted that sizes don't play football but tactics and team work does, on the final against Germany we beat them 2-0 to win the World cup for Nigeria and Africa"
"Nigera needs to go back to the school Sports in other to start discovering new talents and winning laurels again especially at under aged competitions"
