Former Super Eagles of Nigeria Striker Benedict Akwuegbu was at his best when Legends of his former Club GAK Graz of Austria confronted other great players during a charity game in Austria on the Christmas break.
A lot of Soccer fans thronged the Stadium to see their hero Akwuegbu playing for the first time in many years in front of Soccer fans.
"Is good to be back in a team where you were made a hero, much respect and total honor, I really appreciate the fans for coming out to watch the matches"
Benedict Akwuegbu told Journalists after one of the games.
Benedict Akwuegbu appeared to have rolled back the good old days when he featured for his former side Graz AK in a Charity Tournament held in Austria.
Akwuegbu enjoyed an emotional return to Austria as he finished as the highest goal scorer of the tournament which featured several prominent European clubs, where ex-players from top clubs including Bayern Munich, St. Pauli, Rapid Wien and Admiral Wacker reunited for the invitational competition.
The former Nigeria Int'l also known as "Austrian Bomber" scored four goals during the tournament after finding the net once each against Bayern Munich, St. Pauli, Rapid Wien and Admiral Wacker to finish as the tournament's leading marksman.
Akwuegbu could be seen signing a lot of autographs when home fans sighted him entering the pitch as they chanted his name to express their love for him.
Akwuegbu's team Graz AK came second in the tournament following their penalty shootout lost to Sturm Graz after a 2-2 draw in the final, Bayern Munich meanwhile, were eliminated in the early stages of the tournament.
Ben Akwuegbu, a living legend, might be retired but definitely not tired.
