According to him, playing against two Egyptian Clubsides in the CAF Confederation Cup is suicidal but believes that his Club Enyimba can surmount the Egyptian oppositions.
"Is always very difficult playing against Egyptian clubsides at this level especially two of them. It might be at their favor when the matches becomes tough, for one to favor the other as long as both of them is coming from the same Country, but Enyimba is up to the task, and I want CAF to monitor all the games carefully to avoid any kind of accord"

Ifeanyi Ekwueme who was appointed as the Sporting Director of Enyimba Fc has achieved a lot with the Peoples Elephant as Enyimba is fondly called.
Ekwueme played for NEPA Fc, Jasper United in the Nigeria Premier League before traveling to Poland for a long spell with several Polish top flights.
He played a key role in the Super Eagles squad for the 2004 African Cup of Nations in Tunisia.
