Nigeria’s U17 girls, Flamingos, have arrived in Pretoria, South Africa for their 2025 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup second round, first leg qualifier against their South African counterparts, Bantwana, scheduled for Saturday, 8th March 2025. On arrival at the OR Tambo International Airport in the early hours of Thursday, they met with four-time African Player of the Year, top scorer of the Africa Cup of Nations till date and President of Cameroon Football Federation, Samuel Eto’o Fils.
Eto’o shook hands with the young ladies and left them with words of encouragement, after a group photograph. Eto’o is standing fifth from left, with leader of delegation Timothy Magaji (4th from left), NFF Director of Competitions Ruth David (to Eto’o’s left), Coach Bankole Olowookere (to David’s left) and Head of Women Football, Amina Daura (second from left).
